Beverage Container Recycling and CRV

In 2019, the only CRV Redemption Center in Port Hueneme (next to the vacant Mary's Market) ceased operations and closed their recycling center. The closure of this bottle and can recycling center caused a huge inconvenience to our residents who relied on this center for redeeming their beverage containers. Redemption centers are not regulated by the City, nor does the City select which or where such businesses operate. There are still several redemption centers operating in Ventura County; some as close as a mile or two outside of the City of Port Hueneme.
