CITY OF OXNARD "GREAT" PROGRAM RECYCLED WATER PIPELINE Construction related to the City of Oxnard's GREAT Program is scheduled to begin in Port Hueneme in late October 2010. Traffic on Ventura Road / Port Hueneme Road will be affected for several months. UTILITY PAYMENT ASSISTANCE The City of Port Hueneme offers “CityCARE,” a program for income-eligible residents to receive a discount off their water/sewer/refuse bill, based on Southern California Edison’s CARE program guidelines. Click here for more information

HALF CENT SALES TAX Beginning April 1, 2009, a half-cent sales tax for the City of Port Hueneme took effect (now 8.75%). The State Board of Equalization has issued two Special Notices to educate the public and local retailers on the requirements for collection of this tax: Sales and Use Tax Rate Increases on April 1, 2009 and New Tax Rates to Take Effect on April 1, 2009. CFB's AND HOUSEHOLD BATTERIES City of Port Hueneme residents now have the convenience of recycling their Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (“CFBs”) and household batteries at a number of local drop-off sites in the City, free of charge!
