Port Hueneme is a participating jurisdiction in the Ventura County Regional MCC Program. The MCC Program is targeted to low and moderate income first time home buyers. The MCC is a tax credit that increases the amount a buyer can qualify to borrow and increases the buyer’s take-home pay by reducing federal income taxes. The MCC is registered with the IRS and continues to reduce federal taxes each year the buyer continues to own and occupy the home.
MCCs may be used with FHA, VA, or conventional financing. No bond-backed financing such as CalHFA or Cal Vet loans may be used with an MCC. If you finance your purchase with a combination of first and second trust deed financing, the MCC applies only to the first mortgage. Contact the MCC program administrator for a list of local lenders approved to process MCCs.
