PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE-BACK
PHPD participated in the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) "National Take-Back Day" on September 25, 2010, during which residents dropped off their expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs to help prevent prescription drug abuse and theft. Due to the overwhelming response, PHPD has decided to continue this program by keeping the secure collection box available in the Police Department lobby.
The drugs collected are taken to the DEA's destruction sites for safe, environmentally-friendly disposal. It is important to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from your medicine cabinet, and depositing them in the collection box is the safest way to do so. Remember to NEVER dispose of medications in the toilet.

CHANGE IN LIVE-SCAN PROCEDURE TO APPOINTMENT ONLY SCHEDULE
Our Agency has accepted live-can applicants on an appointment schedule for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays of each week. Even with this appointment schedule, the employees that handle the live-scan process are significantly impacted and are falling behind in the collateral duties of their positions.
Effective March 1, 2007, we are changing the days available for live-scan fingerprinting to Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The present appointment procedure shall remain the same. We feel these hours will enable us to serve our community and still allow our employees the time necessary to perform their duties.
To schedule an appointment for live-scan, please call 986-6530.
