Chaplains
|
The
Port Hueneme Police Department currently has three volunteer
Chaplains. Both Chaplains are Pastors of local churches. The
Chaplains volunteer hundreds of hours a year and are a great
asset to both the Department and the Community. The Chaplains
are regularly called upon to assist citizens in tragedy, trauma,
or just in need of spiritual guidance.

Carol Roberg
was once a successful real estate broker in the San Francisco
Bay area. She met her husband, Jerry, on a ski trip to Idaho.
They married and moved to Oxnard where they both felt a call
of God on their lives and prepared by going to bible school.
Following graduation, they were called to the Ventura County
Rescue Mission and grew the ministry to include six separate
locations. Carol Roberg is still employed as Director of the
Ventura County Rescue Mission where she has been directing
a 75-man recovery program, homeless shelter and volunteers
of the last 16 and half years.
When aircraft were allowed
to resume flight after the September 11, 2001 tragedy in New
York City, both Chaplains Green and Carter volunteered their
time, at their own expense, and flew to New York to assist
at Ground Zero. Our Chaplains are always available to anyone
in need, and have no boundaries when responding to the needs
of others.
