Police Patrol

The Patrol Division of the Police Department is placed into four Teams, assigned to 12-hour shifts.

The Patrol Division which operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, responding to emergency and routine assistance calls. Some recent activity includes responding to complaints about scooters, mini-motorcycles, and alarms.

The Police Department utilizes two K-9 units to assist officers in the apprehension of suspects.

The Police Department, with City Council approval, added a motorcycle patrol unit in an attempt to improve traffic safety.

During the warm summer months, the Police Department supplements regular patrol activities with the use of a Bicycle Patrol program.

The Police Department also has an active Explorers program.
