(3) SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. Contact the Social Security Administration to report fraudulent use of your social security number. The Social Security Administration will only change information noted in their files if they are notified in a timely manner. Notify the agency by phone and in writing.

(4) DRIVER LICENSE NUMBER MISUSE. Go to your local DMV to report fraudulent use of your driver license number. Put a fraud alert on your old license number and obtain a new number. This is a must, if you do not change your current license number the credit card/check security companies will continue to report the number as a known "credit risk".

In dealing with the authorities and financial institutions, keep a log of all conversations, including dates, times, names and phone numbers. Confirm conversations in writing. Send correspondence by certified mail. Keep copies of all letters and documents.
