Senior Officer: Robert Albertson Investigative Services Division E-Mail: RAlbertson@ci.port-hueneme.ca.us Senior Officer Albertson started his law enforcement career in 1993 by serving a three-year internship with the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office. He attended the Allan Hancock College Police Academy in 1997 came to the Port Hueneme Police Department in 2002 after serving as a police officer for 5 years with the Guadalupe Police Department in Northern Santa Barbara County. Senior Officer Albertson was assigned to the Investigative Services Division in 2004, and was promoted to Senior Officer in May of 2007, when the City implemented a fifth Senior Officer position. This new position, which will remain an Investigative Services Division position, was created to supplement the Division’s supervisory staff. Senior Officer Albertson acts as the Division’s supervisor in the absence of the Detective Sergeant and supports the sergeant by assuming certain delegated responsibilities in the day-to-day operations of the Division, helping to ensure that the Division runs in an efficient and productive manner. Those responsibilities include reviewing investigative reports, search warrants, and arrest warrant declarations for quality control and accuracy. Senior Officer Albertson is currently assigned to the Major Crimes/Crimes Against Persons caseload and since 2006 he has also been an instructor for the City of Port Hueneme’s Crime Free Multi-Housing Program, specifically teaching property owners and landlords/managers how to recognize and prevent illegal narcotic activity on their properties.
