Officer Hart started his career in 1975 when he became a Police Explorer for the City of Anaheim, and then as a Cadet for the Costa Mesa Police Department. He later worked for the City of Long Beach as a Harbor Patrol Officer. Several years later he joined the Port Hueneme Police Department where he has served as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Senior Officer, Range Master, and member of the Department Color Guard.

After reviewing statistics for the month of July, I wanted to share what has been going on in Beat 2.

• 3 Robberies compared to 0 last month.
• 0 Residential Burglary compared to 0 last month.
• 0 Commercial Burglary compared to 1 last month.
• 0 Vehicle Burglaries compared to 0 last month.
• 0 Assaults compared to 0 last month.
• 1 Petty Theft compared to 3 last month.
• 2 Grand Thefts compared to 0 last month.
• 1 Stolen Vehicle compared to 1 last month.
• 1 Act of Vandalism compared to 3 last month.

Crime Update: The top problem area during the month of July is the area encompassing Bubbling Springs Park to Park Avenue. There were (2) Robberies, one case involved a handgun and the other involved a knife. We also had a strong arm (handgun) robbery at Mary’s Market. In the 700 block of Bryce Canyon an unlocked vehicle was burglarized and numerous items of value were removed.
