April 28, 11:00 AM @ Historical Museum
Two years ago, five of our local Vietnam veterans shared their stories in recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War. We here at the Hueneme Museum thought it high time to do it again—especially since of the 2,709,918 Americans who served in the military during the Vietnam War era (1964-75), fewer than 850,000 are estimated to be alive today. Give those statistics some thought. It means that two out of three veterans have already passed away. As further food for thought, among the survivors, the youngest American Vietnam veteran's age is now approximately 60 years of age.
The Port Hueneme Historical Museum discussion with six local Vietnam Vets will include Tony Murguia USA, Ron Mongeau USMC, Frank Naumann USA, Ron Watts USA and Jim Daniels USN will be led by Beverly Kelley. If last time was any indication of what to expect, you won’t want to miss this moving presentation.
